Friendship, love, companionship.

Friendship, love, companionship.

valentine

Human beings were not born to spend their lives alone. During our course of life, we have all chosen someone to be our companion. At least one person with whom we have created a special bond. The starting point of those bonds is definitely our family, our mams or dads, our grandpas or grandmas, our best friends later on and eventually the person we have chosen to be our pair in life. The very special one to accompany us during our course of life. It is pretty much certain, even if some of us still deny it, that all joys and sorrows are to be shared. Joys taste better when you are not alone and sorrows get lighter when you have by your side your very own person to comfort you.

Even at sports, team or individual ones, there is always a guardian angel, a secret observer, who supports and reinforces the athletes with its presence and its vibes. For us at Resail, the power of friendship is that guardian angel, that secret observer. Either because we have been sailing for many years, or maybe because sharing our thoughts and concerns is an internal feeling that needs to be exposed, we allow that inexplicable inner force to push us to seek the power of the team, the power of friendship. Nevertheless, friendship does not always find the order of things. Yet, at this exact point, you can discover the most vital essence of human coexistence. APPRECIATION and RESPECT. Or in one single word, LOVE.

Upon the occasion of Valentine's day we reflected on the value of that word and the gravity we place upon it as we use it regarding our friends, among husbands and wives, coworkers or co athletes. The range is so wide, as wide is the amount of people on Earth. Respect won't end. Neither appreciation. If we want to fill our souls with both of them, it is essential to start considering the importance of offering. To share, to offer open handed our good mood. A small gift that will cost nothing, maybe a nice word, an encouraging move towards our friends. We are social entities and we need companionship. Let's embrace it and we will only gain by becoming stronger.
